Best Foodie Finds in Hawkes Bay

Mid-semester break has just come to it's end and with that my time at home in Hawkes Bay has ended too. This year I managed to arrive home right in time for some beautiful warm weather and the arrival of the new Spring menus in most of the local eateries.
So without further ado let's get into my recent favourite foodie finds in Hawkes Bay.

1. Pipi Cafe

I went here way too often while being home but it is honestly the best pizza you will ever have and one of the coolest settings to eat pizza in. You can't miss the bright pink Pipi Cafe building in Havelock North, it opens at 4 most afternoons and starts getting busy almost as soon as the doors open. As well as their incredible pizzas, Pipis also makes incredible pasta and mouth-watering desserts. Next time you go make sure to try the blue cheese, pea and bacon pasta - it was delicious!

2. Hapi

If you are on the lookout for a guilt-free treat on a sunny Hawkes Bay day - then look no further than Hapi. Hapi is known around the bay for their incredible Coco-whip desserts they make. My favourite has to be the salted - caramel but the affogato was also super tasty. They also have a huge range of juices and other raw sandwiches and treats.

3. F.G. Smith Eatery

Probably one of my favourite cafes in Hawkes Bay is Smith's Eatery over in Ahuriri. The service is always so good and the food is delicious. At the moment I just can't go past the salted caramel french toast on their menu, it is just too good! Love dining here whenever I'm home.

4. Hawke's Bay Farmer's Market

I won't expand on this one too much as I have done a full blog post about it, which I will link here, but it would definitely be a crime to go to Hawke's Bay and not go to this market.

5. Haumoana Burger

Haumoana is a small beach side town in Hawkes Bay about 15-20 minutes out of Hastings. Earlier this year, Haumoana Burger opened up and changed the burger game in Hawkes Bay. All of their burgers are made on delicious brioche buns and use delicious local produce. My favourites have got to be either the chicken burger, or the beef, bacon and cheese burger.

6. Mister D's.

The perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a sneaky doughnut while shopping in Napier. Mister D's does it all and to a really high standard as well. Mister D's is a must-visit if you find yourself in Napier, and while you're there make sure to try Hawke's Bay's 'most photographed dish' - one of their doughnuts alongside a syringe of your choice (chocolate, custard or jelly).

On a final note, Summer  F.A.W.C, Hawke's Bay food and wine highlight of the year is coming up soon and you will not want to miss it! Al Brown, Ben Bayley, Josh Emet and Nadia Lim alongside dozens more chefs, foodies and wine makers will be there hosting events. Tickets are on sale now with over 70 events that will appeal to all and are bound to start your summer off in the best way possible. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed having a read and I have convinced all of you foodies out there that Hawke's Bay is the place to be for you're next holiday or weekend away.
